Chadwick Lawson This was a tough one. I thought we all had this one in the bag. My bad for waiting too long. Yeah. This will sting for a bit.
I bet if you go to the store in Abaco they have everything too. Fuel, flashlights, etc. Not empty shelves like you see here.

That should be the most exciting thing you'll see this week. Welcome to Florida, paradise.

Chris Collura is feeling depressed.
I've kinda fed up with chasing here with this Dorian fiasco and to be honest I feel like resigning from chasing altogether.
With the track changes / delays, chasers in Abaco Bahamas on a cheap flight I missed by a tad, and changing rental cars / flights and $$$ only to see pushing and shoving for gas and water like animals over a storm that never came?
Nah. I'm getting too old for this.
I'm going back to S California and trying to focus more on a real job and getting family ties in order. Chasing just isnt what it is anymore. You rich folks can continue where I left off.

Yeah as for Abaco it's even a possibility of a miss there now too (left side of outer eyewall).
I also fell into the hole of cancelled flights, after extending my trip here to FL (from CA) a week for nothing.
Sorry to hear about your case. Total BS.

Chris Collura updated his status.
Ok ... Let's try THIS again (long post re-written again below after FB barfed and deleted it)...
...Hurricane Dorian is now hinting on a potential MISS to Florida to the east by some models. The KEY here is DELAYS (I sound like American Airlines, haha) but the longer Dorian takes to move west, the more likely it will turn away from FL and remain out to sea.
But still make your preparations. The storm can speed up again and slam into eastern Florida before the trough recurves it. My nails will be bitten down to the quick long before we know for sure.

Thank you again FB ... Throwing THIS in my face after typing a LONG paragraph and hitting "post"......And just deleted it. Exited and all my text is gone. Nice job!

Tim Marshall, if you are chasing this - get here no later than Sunday as some models show it coming in late Sunday afternoon. Monday might be late unless you are assessing possible aftermath.
I was supposed to be back in S California now, going back Aug 27, but I extended it until next Wednesday so I can be here in Florida for it.

Ofcourse - Since the radio no longer plays these - I have them all on MP3s.
The music today on the radio gives me a headache. AND if I do listen to the radio WHY is the awesome (but RARE) dance or classic rock station the one with the weakest signal??? (stop at light and move up a foot to hear it)!

I was supposed to be back in S California yesterday. But changed tickets to go back mid next week. Right now its looking like a possible cat 2 hitting the east-central FL treasure coast by late Sunday. But this is a 200 mile cone of uncertainty and anything can change.
The storm missing higher terrain (Hispaniola) and central PR will have a huge influence on intensity, plus its leaving the hostile environment (dry air) in the E Caribbean you mentioned.
Anyway hope you can make this one and maybe see you out in "the field" again!

I guess it's better early than never as an active storm (Dorian) is in the Atlantic basin nearing the Mona passage between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. This will be crucial on how it may effect FL (if at all) during the late weekend. I extended my stay here just in case (leaving next week instead of this week). Also, note that water shelves at the Walmart here in S Florida are already empty!

The shear and environment is easy for it EXCEPT for the SAL dry air (Saharan Air Layer). This would probably weaken it, plus a TUTT (tropical upper tropospheric low) to the west may impart shear on it over the next few days.

I have been seeing a lot of "people I may know" and suggestions and just by looking at the name and / or picture something is right away fishy.
For example, you see a friend request from someone you dont know and it's an Asian or Indian person, but the name says something like "Bob Wilson" (no Asian would have a name like that) you know it's fake / computer generated.
Don't give into these jerks. Second I am extremely selective now to the point I only accept if I know them outside FB. It's just keeping my area less "noisy".

I actually had a quote and small deposit for a Suburu Forester but leaned towards Jeep after hearing these cars were prone to being "lemons". The older Subarus I saw more tried and true good ratings. Not sure what they screwed up on so badly recently since 2015.

Not to put salt in a would but a friend of mine knew this couple and the guys wife was always giving him stress. At age 45 he died. And, low and behold, the wife (you guessed it) gets his will settlement of $850k. AND she flaunts the fact now she has all this money looking down on others struggling.
Life's unfair in many ways. God will "judge" though :-]

Dave Ruths I heard the high rent for that retail space for the Mc Donald's forced them out. The overpriced sandwich shop caters to folks who want to eat on a plane (not the concourse) and charges OUT RAGEOUS prices (a plain grilled cheese is like $12+) probably to cover the crazy rent.

Felicia Burch OMG that Mc Donald's was AWESOME! Not expensive, and even served both full menu and breakfast any time of the day. So if you want nuggets at 9 AM or a breakfast bagel at 9 PM = No problem.
One day I go there and there was just a wall where the Mc Donald's once was. I was pissed. I posted it all over FB too.
Even worse, there really isn't any alternatives. The Mc Donald's was replaced with an over priced take out sandwich shop. The other restaurants I never even heard of. Last month I bought a grilled cheese sandwich (just two pieces of toast and cheese slice, nothing else) and it was $15. A 20 piece Mc Nuggets at the former Mc Donald's was $6. WTF????

Chris Collura commented on UrbanMatter Chicago's post.
Midway is my main GO TO airport in Chicago and I never had any issues there. I think this study is meant for O'Hare and American Airlines (not SW airlines)!
Also the Orange Line (CTA) is a straight 20 minute shit from downtown (far easier than O'Hares blue line) and if you park there it's great across the street and a mere 5 minute walk (or bus ride from their main lot).
Takeoffs and landings are quick, and even thrilling for those with a window seat (you'll know what I mean)!
The only complaint was the removal of Mc Donald's a couple years ago in the B concourse. That wasn't a good move and I wonder if "that move" is what put Midway on this list?

For example I do storm chasing. I was getting horrible flack on here from that. Especially from those who dont chase storms. None of whom I physically met (nor knew outside of Facebook).
Also many people have thousands of "friends" on here, even where I cannot add them because they hit their 5000 friends limit. Seriously? And how many of these do they know physically out of the 5000? ... 1000? 50? 5? None? Scary.

Jason Foster I was in that terminal flying for the first time in my life (1978). So scared to fly my mom and dad said we are going on a high speed train called a "fkytrain" that also left from JFK airport to Florida. Once we took off I loved it. Loved flying since. Now I skydive. That terminal stuck hard in my child memories (even the women in high heels and dressed up to fly, not just reeking with cigarette smoke)!

Foul language flies all over the stadium during a game, including mine. The way they play - And if they win they usually get way ahead and throw it all the way in the end. More frustrating than being stood up on a date you had your hopes so high on. Mentally the Dolphins are not a healthy experience for their fans and the "maybe next year" kind of zeal and false hope doesn't help either. Plus under a stadium that got a "pretty" awning when it should have been added a domed roof. The sun is murder (especially since they did so bad one year they only got the 1 PM Sunday games). If it rains a waterfall drips on parts of the crowd in certain areas. Ruined my phone. Derek Sibley, remember that one (at least they one by 1 second 4th quater)?

Going on a cruise is basically a large floating hotel. Jam packed and with everything from shows and casinos to pools and buffets. Nothing is wide open since you are on a boat. A big boat. But I found it to be an amazing experience.
You never have to walk far, you eat and drink to your hearts content. Activities are well planned and the cruise director can be awesome. But yes there WILL be crowds of happy people enjoying themselves. Just like you. I even made friends too!
Always go with a well renowned cruise line (Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Costa, even Carnival). Its fun for anyone and any age or race. One big party!
The shorter cruises seem to be the best. Being on a ship too long can get monotonous. Just pick wisely and enjoy.

It looks like its sorted by date. So I get lazy, exit FB, find the pic in my gallery, copy it or "snapshot" it ... Then when I go back into FB it's on the top.
Oh, and NEVER leave the story thread. Go into it, start writing the comment and THEN exit FB to do the pic. Or else you'll go back into Facebook and NEVER find the thread you wanted to post on. Ever!!!!
Their "algorithm" is f'cked to sh't anyways. My seemingly epic post of cat 5 Michael last Oct got barely 2 likes. Didnt seem right. I removed it and re posted it. Same thing. All while others with LESS FB friends then me had dozens of comments and likes on theirs. So yeah, FB is all messed up.
