Basically were all in a hole and its almost impossible to get out of it. Saying a "few extra bucks" in our pocket is like saying "its cooler on a hot day" at the bottom of that hole. Not much else is good about it.

Welcome back!

Awesome stuff. How long do these probes last if you guys cannot be out there more than once a year to check them?

Was this year more rain (considering the increase in Atlantic hurricanes)?

Chris Collura commented on Rocky Rascovich's post.

Hey Rocky Rascovich. Great story.

To be honest I have quite a few Asian friends and most of them can vouch for kindness and helping one another.

AAA is worth shit unless you're getting towed. The other day I spent $225 for a new battery (installed) that was only 15 months old on my new Jeep (and I got a claim there with them for their reimbursement / or even consumer affairs if the 60 month warranty ain't honored).

I could have done this all for $100 (at Walmart - Or even free at the Jeep dealer) had the jump started the vehicle (It didnt ... thatcwoukd be too easy, right?).

With the dues I pay AAA each year I'd expect a free or at least discounted battery, or at least the installation for it free (not $40). And NO I don't buy AAAs Disney packages.

In your case ... It shows that some people are actually still NICE is this country thats falling apart.

Chris Collura commented on Charles Edwards's post.

Dont get me started about this. Ive literally torn hair out.

First, ive been scrolling down and stop on a really interesting post. Then I exit FB and go back in, and its GONE! Yet when I try to find it the post before and after it is still there. The only way to find it is to go to the poster's timeline (if you happen to see and note it before you exited FB).

Secondly, scroll up to "refresh" the page - I do this alot during ongoing events, like a tornado outbreak I'm missing. Then it refreshes and the most recent post is "someones cat pictures" from a day or two ago. Salt in a wound!

Third ... Fix the picture attachment function so that you can choose separate albums on the phone / device - Not have to scroll through every picture like a needle in a haystack.

So if you have 1000 pics on your phone spread across 25 albums, it won't let you choose an album and the picture in that one. You have to sift through all 1000 photos.

Finally ... Suggesting pages and ads you don't want. Casper Mattress, the weather service in Zimbabwe, games (I have these off but they keep coming) ... Go away!

Its almost as if FB "knows" when your pissed off and does it on purpose (especially showing the "latest" posts from last week when you refresh)!

Yeah Doug Kiesling. You're talking 3200 MB/s rates to start. The ASUS laptop with this drive pretty much just turns on, and Windows is loaded, nearly instantly. The "longest" process is entering your password. LOL

The former SATA SSDs were "jailed" to 550 MB/s cuz of the interface.

Posted: Nov 27, 2017, 6:49 AM

Chris Collura commented on Doug Kiesling's post.

My new ASUS has an NMVe (512 GB) SSD in it. When I had to send it in for repairs (water damage) I figured I'd open it and was like "where's the SSD" at first?

I went to Best Buy to check if they had an NMVe to USB interface. No one there (even the so called Geek Squad) knew what it was. They told me the SSD was a memory RAM chip and thought I was drunk. Lovely.

Josh was with myself and several other chasers at the hotel in Rockport. We were hit with a mesovortex while we were just getting into the calm eye!

You could here it coming and it lasted for 20 or 30 seconds. The winds in this "feature" were about as strong as in the eyewall itself earlier. Roughly 130+ MPH gusts.

Posted: Nov 21, 2017, 7:04 AM

Chris Collura commented on iCyclone's post.

Josh ... I noticed that violent shifting in Caguas as well in the core flow of the eyewall. It was more prominent in the forward right side than the backside. Definitely mini swirls and not terrain related.

At one point I saw the winds go from NE to E and increase with violent "choppiness" and saw roof come off with pressure in ears and all. Thought it was a tornado!

This had to be the convective nature if the storm eyewall - Given that the former inner eyewall segment was almost gone at the time, and outer eyewall expanding and intensifying as Maria made landfall.

Lemme guess? Some old lady (or even worse a bunch of sick kids) coughed or sneezed RIGHT ON YOU without covering their mouths started this WHOLE THING?

Reminds me of December 2015. In MARCH 2016 I finally started feeling better.

Doctor visits in Feb 2016 = $315. Plus even tested for HIV (what a joke). My health insurance loved that.

In Dec 2015 an old lady in Walmart sneezed INTO my shopping cart as she was checking out 26 items in the 10 items or less line. LOL

Cover your f'king mouth old lady (cuz no one wants your shit).

This is why I take Airborne AND Zicam AS SOON as I get the hint of the "gongee-now" (dry scratchy gargling sound = pre cold) throat!

If its NOT a cold coming on, it wont hurt. But if it is, it will quickly knock it down.

If you take these things when the throat is already sore and stuffiness sets in, its kinda too late. At that point your wasting money. Yiu MUST take it at the FIRST HINT of a (possible) cold.

Last month I did that too late and it did nothing, and had to see doctor. 2 years ago it took over a month and a half to shake off that and the cough. Never again.

Meteorologically and scientifically this storm was awesome. But I'm sure if I was there the death and aftermath would have haunted me too. In that sense I'm kind of glad I wasn't there. Katrina (2005) in the USA gave me bad dreams for many months. Haiyan would have probably given me a lifetime chase and years of expensive therapy / shrinks TOO. Ugh. Just seeing those poor people there was sad. Also, like Maria in PR, you're lucky you were able to get out of there afterwards.
