Like that stingey rich snob in Boca Raton in 1992 who got $5000 from her insurance blaming damaged screening that wasn't maintained on hurricane Andrew!

She used that money to get a facelift. Sucks, Jason Foster, don't it?

That's right. That California current is cold!

I think the sea surface temperatures off that part of Japan is similar to North Carolina / Virginia (mid Atlantic) here on the east USA coast.

I see quite a bit of dry air west of it. Taiwan almost no mid level moisture. I wonder how long it will take before it (and some shear) affects it.

Chris Collura replied to Joaquin Fana's comment.

Very seldom do you see BOTH Atlantic and Pacific Oceans active at SAME time. Its either one or the other. I wonder if its related to the MJO (Madden Julian Oscillation) being sized such that only ONE basin can fit "within" its positive (or negative) waves at any given point as it goes around the Earth?

Chris Collura commented on iCyclone's photo.

It would be nice if it would hit an island you can be chasing on. But just looks like ocean all the way to the mainland.

If this was off the Philippines then this would be a true monster at landfall.

A broken or mutilated skeleton (possible blunt trauma at death) is scarier.

If you decorate with a skeleton, maybe break some of the ribs or the skull.

Hey Zach Young, subtropical or "hybrid" cyclones are such that have characteristics of both tropical and extra-tropical cyclones. These are most common in October. Examples are the landfalling Sandy in 2012 and the "Perfect Storm" in 1991. Both in October.

More like #3 - Green doesnt mean go. One car gets through at best. But that's in S Florida where no one (with or without Alzheimers) should be driving in the first place.

Add #4 - Many "invisible" left turning cars going opposite will make for an extended red light against to you. If no one going the other way, then the lights on a timer.

Thanks guys. I remember something exactly like this after Katrina in 2005. Doug Kiesling also got it from Katrina. Took a month or two to fully shake it off. Its impossible to avoid this because the contaminated water is also airborne as an aerosol.

While everyone focuses on drowning and wind damage ... The real dangers are the diseases lurking in the afternath.Last week I had a high fever and "one day" cold. Thinking that was the end of it right? Wrong.Found out today - after a week-long sore throat akin to swallowing a knife every time I swallowed - I was diagnosed with a pretty serious bacterial infection. I'm on antibiotics now.The culprit most likely the filth, raw sewage, and spray from Maria in Puerto Rico. Just a word to the wise. Be careful out there.

Yes ... Something I'll never have.

Today I got numerous personal attacks in lieu if the shootings over me not voting last year.

One was a woman I chatted with for weeks. And today the deal not only broke ... but I was told off.

I made the decision to leave the USA for a bit, spend some time in Canada.

Hey Zach Young. The brain issues are stigma'd and No one cares. So people don't get help and it gets to extreme cases like that.

Chris Collura commented on Dave Lewison's post.

Dave Lewison, 15 people screamed at me for not voting and unfriended me on here this morning. When I tried to explain to them gun control, Trump, and voting had nothing to do with it --it didn't work. One who knew my address threatened me and I had to call the police. Now I know how a confederate statue "feels". I'm making plans to go to Toronto for a while. Total bull crap.

Just got nasty messages and unfriended by 10 people because I didn't vote (on my posts from November 2016).

Let me tell everyone something ... We got 400+ people injured and 50+ dead. This is because of a person with mental illness. Not because of Trump, voting, or gun control. So STOP this shit RIGHT NOW.

We're Americans and need to love each other and stop hating others and their decisions. This would have happened regardless of voting or a president. If there were no guns, thus person would have used a bomb or truck. Grow f'king up, America.

This event costed me about 20 personal attacks and 10 unfriend. Love is gone. Hope is gone.

Roger Hill, I know this may sound stupid... but I'm a religious guy and know a lot of people from Buddha, Christian, Jewish, etc.

There are people in this world that are actually demons in human form. Instead of angels (super good people) coming down, we have pieces of the devil coming UP and doing things like this.

Jeff Dahmer, Bin Laden, these shooters, etc ... Demons (that LOOK like people).
