Ever wondering WHY I'm not on here as much? Because of remarks like THIS. A simple response to a thread saying I don't hurt animals. John Monteverdi Yeah if you plug in the formulas a 100 fold increase in density yields about 10 times the true airspeed as pressure (indicated). So 100 MPH wind at 34,000 feet "indicates" a 50 MPH wind pressure wise. According to JPL that chute went out at 450 meters / second, well over 1200 MPH true and well into the supersonic regime in a cold thin CO2 atmosphere. But if you were a skydiver (in a suit) you'll "feel" about 110 to 120 MPH, probably with control losses / flutter from the wave drag. Felix B experienced that jumping from 130,000 feet.

I can imagine the opening shock on that parachute since it's probably opening at transonic / supersonic speeds (100 MPH "indicated" on Mars is like 1000 MPH "true" airspeed). Just another slight design consideration on this awesome mission ;)

There are no mountains in Brooklyn (far left). East River and bridges over it is missing.

I've seen these images (Google chromecast) and these are altered images, some cities even have other buildings from other cities or in this case, mountains, photoshopped into it.

I never liked hurting any living thing. From the tiniest bugs up until dogs and humans.

I remember as a kid a bunch of flies in the corner and my mom sprayed them with insecticide. The flies all gathered together and in unison buzzed loudly and with a lessening tone and volume until they were silent.

Like a bunch if people screaming in a Nazi gas chamber. It was so creepy and I felt so bad.

After that I either catch and release bugs (or direct them) outside.

Sky-Chaser Chris Collura is feeling heartbroken.

Another devastating social "effect" of Covid-19 is the disruption in daily life it caused. Many folks are working from home (or not working at all) and cannot go out (no warm candlelight dinner at a quaint restaurant and certainly no movie - just take out and re-heated / microwaved fast food).

The time family and couples may have cooped up in the house is alot - And probably too much, and not in a good sense.

Before Covid-19 there was a time in and a time out for almost everything. You get up, go out to work at your office, come home, eat out, go to gym, see a movie, go to park, etc. All pretty much care free.

Say your wife worked from 9 to 6, and you work remotely at home or part time at the office. Normally you come (or are at) home, go to gym, go outside, your wife comes home later all happy and you go to dinner and movie together.

Now you (or both of you) are stuck home. Kids nagging you because of no school. Playing video games all day. Your wife wants you to do stuff around the house, she's there constantly. Driving you crazy. You go out to beach couple of hours (probably not even able to get out of your car - Just look at the waves) and upon returning you need to explain in vain as she asks "where have you been?" as you walk in with stale / cold fast food takout.

An argument starts. No one even eats. No one has their well deserved "own space" they took for granted up until early 2020. Friends stop calling. Long awaited concerts, airshows, sporting events, and such, are canceled. No church too. Stress continues to build as more places you loved close up, as vaccines open up only for minorities and you can't get yours indefinitely. Your lifestyle of sports and mingling with friends is ruined - Most likely permanently.

Everything driven online. Even your corporate Christmas party is on Zoom :( ... And 3 people log in. Facebook and similar apps are ablaze with hate and politics. With bars and social clubs closed, even dating apps are shallow and hateful. Meanwhile on CNN, our own capital is being vandalized in DC.

Or maybe, just maybe, someone you know or love gets Covid-19, because the store was packed / didn't have an item, no one wearing masks - And got exposed running all over the place (while religiously wearing their mask) ... Only to die or become disabled.

Unless your a couch potato (or hermit), any active or fun lifestyle was hosed by Covid-19. The way this pandemic ruined our lives is just appalling. God help everyone. And I mean everyone.

I log in and see someone post somethimg. Like about a tornado in 2010.

Then I EXIT Facebook, look up a video or picture of that tornado or storm, and save it to share on Facebook. Sift and search through dozens (or even hundreds of posts) and I can't find it :/

Then I go back into Facebook and that post isn't there, and I hit refresh and it shows "stale posts" from 2 or 3 days ago.

Why can that d-bag Z'berg (and his team) just program Facebook so when you exit and go back in immediately it KEEPS YOU THERE where you left off - Before you exited?

I get so angry at this Bull Shit! F'cking FIX this!

I've seen those senior citizens jamming up parking at the beach (to the point they were charging for valet) and 2+ hour wait to get table in restaurant = Nearly all with NO masks and no distancing. Was really bad there last March and April. I was so upset. Esp after I threw 2 to 3 weeks of my life way (sheltering in place) before that.
