...You GOTTA "pit" for fuel QUICKLY cuz a tornado is imminent nearby...

...AND then you run into something like THIS and MISS everything!

Hung out one more day west of Chicago to enjoy skydiving at Chicagoland Skydiving Center (CSC) near Rochelle, IL. Again the winds were howling (gusting 20 to 25 knots) as they have been just about any weekend since late April (I guess the same "mechanism" that ruined chasing with NW flow and surging cold fronts)!

Anyway I signed up and got a skydive in, just before they grounded everyone. I'm C license level but the jumping was for D minimum, or 500 jumps. I have 672 jumps, so I sneakily went. On landing the winds were right at my threshold of ability, but I landed fine. One guy next to me (with 1000s of jumps) wasn't so lucky and was dragged 100 feet by the wind under canopy until two of us grabbed him before hitting the fence. He was also OK.

The funny thing was I planned to NOT skydive yesterday (Friday) because the forecast called for strong winds then, and lighter today. Instead the opposite occurred, and yesterday was clear blue and calm winds. Gotta love 2017 and it's "Canadian X'press" (NW flow).

75 knots of wind (and -15 c) at 14,500 feet too ... I'm sure if some Canuck in Calgary farted I'd probably get wind of it :-)

The last time I used film was in 2004 / 2005.

I was just thinking as one trip out this year I shot a total of around 3,600 digital stills.

Now let's rewind to 2001 or so, that's 100 36-exposure rolls ($5.99 each). So let's say, $600 BEFORE taking the pictures.

Then you gotta develop 'em. $7.99 is what I used to spend at CVS or Walgreens for 36 prints ... Do the math = about $800.

So that's $1,400 plus the hours of going through / scanning them all in. Right now we just pop in the SD card and the week long wait and $1,400 is removed from the equation!

I got an idea because I f'cking HATE tolls a hundred tmes more than 'being blocked by an Asian chick I like (for saying "hi") on an online dating app'!

1). Get rid of these toll plazas. They cause delays and accidents.

2). Institute a SMALL increase in property taxes, sales tax (like a mere 0.5 or 1 percent), or tax on cigarettes or even 1 cent or so on gas / fuel.

Do THAT and you'll make much more $$$ revenue than these toll booths / pay huts :/

Rediculous. Pay to drive on a strip of asphalt.

Thanks George Kourounis. I was dating her up here in Chicago, and she managed a nail salon there from 2013 to 2016. She tried very hard, and immigration paperwork was lost in the mail, causing her to miss a deadline.

They denied her visa and she's back there with her family. She'll never be back, and told everyone there how much she hates the USA and the government and how stupid they can be with these type of things. I still talk to her via skype.

Next year she may move to Toronto, since Canada is much better with Asian (or any) immigrants. At least there I can visit her maybe.

Long but interesting chase day on June 13 (Left North Platte, NE in the morning targeting east-central to SE SD by late afternoon ). Storms went up but we're HP supercells with a brief tornado observed southwest of Mitchell.Later in the day the storms lined out as expected, but not before this incredible view (of a hail core) southeast of Yankton, SD in NE Nebraska off SR 37! Those colors are real! This storm packed quarter sized hail and winds gusting near 80 mph, downing a tree and pieces off that tree slamming into my vehicle. The MCS caused frustration as my hotel that I booked online didn't have power in Sioux City. This is the fourth time in 2017 I lost a hotel reservation / couldn't check in because power was out. Anyone else had that issue tonight?

SPC has high end moderate risk out for the NE / SD / WY tri-state area. 45% hail with new 15% tornado probability as per 1630z. Jeez will this be a tornado fest or crap fest?

Currently working my west (under clear skies and a warm moist east wind) across SW SD along route 18 targeting SE to E Wyoming for starters. Gonna be interesting :/

I hope I won't regret not going to north central North Dakota today. I'm planning on headed out around June 12 again ... Severe knee pain from a bursitis flare has kept me in the Chicago suburbs and on my back in tearful (and excruciating) pain lasting for days.

It's like if someone whacked my left knee cap with a hammer. No BS - Strong pain killers offer some relief and limited mobility. I'm hoping to not miss anything today and hope I'm well enough to start the long drive back out early Sunday.

Florida is the WORST for HOAs, trust me as Dave Lewison mentioned.

And you PAY money to be treated like a slave. It's like a form of double taxation (property taxes AND the HOA fees).

Worst board "of elders" you can imagine.

I built a custom fountain and no one said anything for 3 years and right out of the blue I had to remove it.

I was on top of everything EXCEPT that hidden weed or stain I missed = Fine!!!!

Went to some of the meetings. Seen fights there. Introduced myself and I'm given a dirty look - "Hello, but I wouldn't do what you did with that fountain..."

Worst load of scumbags I ever dealt with.

If I have to spend $200 extra for nonstop flights I will (or of you're gonna stop, try no plane changes).

I've learned that the hard way being stuck, missing a connection, twice. Since it's weather related (screw "thunderstorms" in this case) ... You get no vouchers. They don't put you up anywhere or any hotel. If you're lucky you get a $5 "meal voucher" you can use towards a $15 burger!

I slept on the floor twice in Atlanta years back using my bag as my pillow cuz of that BS.

And when I finally got home (I was also dumb enough to check bags back then) ... I watched the bag carousel go "round n round" ... no bag. Carousel stops. Still no bag. They lost it. Salt-IN-a-Wound!

In 2013 on SW Airlines my carry on bag weight 85 lbs. Glad I work out...

The late season should be kicking in by as early as June 10 if the GFS and models verify ... Showing thermal ridge break-down and a slow moving trough taking its place for nearly a week.

I'm flying back up to Chicago this coming Monday and waiting a bit there before heading back west late Thursday (or Friday). Let's hope we get an awesome JUNE on par with 2014!
