Group: RadarScope Users Group

Thanks ... Yesterday I had to reinstall mine after I kept getting "Radarscope stopped working" crash each time I'd change the radar tilt or product (comp reflectivity to velocity, for instance).

Doubt I'll be storm chasing today. Not much this far north for a local IL chase. Activity for the most part should affect the deep south / south central US regions (MS or even TN areas). Better to stay here for work than make the long round trip there and back.

The pain sure doesn't match the "visuals". Trimmed my nails (without professional Vietnamese help) last week (after I quit biting them after the New Year) and a little split formed in one of them.I removed the split and it was OK a few days then it became an ingrown nail and infected. You don't know it's there UNTIL you brush you're finger against something or bump it (like grabbing keys or such) ... THEN it's EXCRUCIATING pain! This morning I gently bumped my hand while brushing my teeth and got to see all the "stars" in one shot ... I think I even saw Jupiter and all its natural satellites too :-(

Posted: Mar 30, 2016, 2:48 PM

Dual velocities on the cell in far NE Texas! Interesting how the velocities can be so hidden in the "base reflectivity" view to the left, yet to the right, two powerful velocity couplets exist "in there"!

Yeah ... this is too much in terms of the traveling (the company pays for that part) ... BUT (fear and shaking) - I'm sure on April 25th there will be a wedge fest an hour west of Chicago?

Posted: Mar 28, 2016, 8:44 AM

Chris Collura commented on Tony Mesias's post.

Yeah, umm ... you do need two hands to chase (one to drive, the other for cameras and electronics).

Posted: Mar 28, 2016, 8:42 AM

Chris Collura replied to Dave Lewison's comment.

Ofcourse. BUT the issue is that this is my dentist (who I trust) who started a lengthy procedure (bone graft, post, and implant, each is a 4 month healing process) and I'm not having some idiot (with my luck) finishing what the good dentist started. Better to be done right than wrong.

This all started with a failed root canal that I OD'd on pain killers for almost 2 years until I couldn't take it anymore (plus saved the $$$ to have it done right this time). The pain is hone since then, just waiting for the final crown which needs to be right.

Posted: Mar 28, 2016, 7:09 AM

Chris Collura replied to Jason Ssg Young's comment.

I'm sick of this shit. I've been going back and forth with this implant for almost a year now. Follow ups and such.

This morning I'm expecting the final and long awaited permanent crown and instead they got the molds out again.

They seemed a bit insulted when I mentioned "another airfare during spring breaks high prices?"

I am ready to f'king break something. I was supposed to do a final implant crown at my FL dentist and instead they had to redo the mold for it. So I made special trip last month to FL basically for NOTHING. I've been taking Monday off without pay for this crap.

Now I have to go back there AGAIN in late April. Jesus Christ ... You are professionals ... GET IT RIGHT the FIRST time!!! ... OR - Reimburse me for the air travel and lost wages for taking these Mondays off. Oh, and Saturday hours would be nice too!

F'king IDIOTS !!!!!!

Posted: Mar 24, 2016, 8:24 AM

Chris Collura replied to Jason Ssg Young's comment.

I was very tempted to go out but needed to work. It's about a 6 hour drive each way had I gone to SW Iowa. I saw the HRRR (their site was down much of the day but the COD page still worked for it) and it showed clusters of storms - which verified - unlike the discrete supercells last week on the 15th.

So for those who chased yesterday (3/23), it appears it was indeed an over hyped winter chase. Meh.I highlighted Iowa in there because that's the state where something like this usually happens :(

Posted: Mar 24, 2016, 6:22 AM

Chris Collura commented on Dave Lewison's post.

I have a huge Monster (4 guage) cable off my battery with its own 100 amp fuse (at the battery terminal) that runs the inverter, HAM radio, and anything else (even the audio amp) hooked into it. This cable is heavily shielded (positive) and runs to the rear of the car where there's a power outlet there too. Each load off this main "bus" is also fused with the negative return off a nearby vehicle ground. Simple and robust.

Not chasing this one but this was pretty much my virtual target the past 3 days (not wanting anything to do with the deciduous jungles of the main E OK / Western AR targets). For those who went to SW Iowa and NW Missouri for storm chasing today (Wed 3/23) ... You chose wisely :)

Well a year later today (3/23/16) and in a couple of days the cap and final tooth go in - after many follow ups and implant / abutment, etc.

What about these people on YouTube who face plant during a failed BMX jump and knock all their teeth out on the concrete ramp? What would their dentist say? Lol

I'll pick a free fall from 36,000 feet if I had a choice. I'll be enjoying my last moments skydiving at least.

12

Order of operations. Multiply / divide is done first first then add / subtract second.

Now is this being "wrapped"? If that's the case, two of the 1's are 11's, in thar case it's 31.

If the first two rows are not related to the 3rd, then it's 2.

But I'll stick with 12.

Confused?

Yeah, I figured that...

Are we referring to the event this past Tuesday? I assume not. But the Good Hope tornado had an 1800 yard wide damage path with EF2 damage, dimensionally that's "wedge proportions" but it didn't look like that visually (rain wrapped dusty tornado). It also wasn't moving at 60 MPH, more like 30. This must be the tri-state outbreak you are referring to (?)

This is rather local for me being based just west of Chicago. I'm chasing ofcourse. The encouraging fact over the moisture issue is the upper support and large scale ascent and kinematics that can overcome the scant moisture.

I'm so sorry, he is in a better place. My grandfather passing in May 1990 was the toughest loss ever for me. Like you, he made me the man I am ... Even the NYC temper and cussing is a "chip" off him. Most importantly, he was there for me when my dad failed miserably at doing so. Overcame my fear of storms because of him too. Kept our grandfather's in our hearts, John.

I figured something like that. I didn't argue with them. It's their job. Just thought it was strange the flashlight was not stopped before. I know police carry those because they double as a club.

I had a 3 cell LED mag flashlight ($50) that probably has been through TSA 15 or 20 times since 2008 ... Today they say "can't go" and throw it away coming back from California to Chicago.

Now how the HELL was I able to take this deadly WEAPON in my carry on for so many years is beyond me ...

... Either someone wasn't doing their job, or this week something happened at an airport with these flashlights, or perhaps just NOW they realize someone could hurt someone with it?

Simple "series" ... Add up digits and add them to the 3rd one multiplied by 10. Answer is 79.

Even the missing "116" one can be computed as 68, or "118" would be 90.

Just when the cancer is almost gone, it comes back, and the next thing you know it, your dead fast (sorry mom too). Absolute bull shit.
