Could have been worse ... you could have been driving to your dad's place to visit (after that flight) only to hear him say DONT BOTHER.

Exactly ... moving soon. I'll be there to document the category 6 wiping out florida, and all the scumbags in it, including my dad ... Doug Kiesling will come in his pants when he gets THAT footage.

Yeah Jason Foster ... until I TRIED to visit my dad ... not jumping is the least of my problems now.

Ok time out ... enuff of this. It's just a fine. I got some much more serious family issues to deal with now - so a little camera violation is like squashing a roach right now.

Blue day ... Still celebrating my dad's birthday after he told me "Don't bother" when I was on my way up. Oh well ... another reason I hate FL. He'll get the message... that's his birthday card. Why the fuck dud you have to leave us, mom.

Hey Mona Lowenthal Krimsky ... not only that, a yellow light you get flashed on. The speed cameras hit you if just ONE LOUSY MPH over. Remember, this is an automated system, not some PIG waiting behind a, tree.

Hey Jason Young ... Don't do it. It's an overrated and over priced place, riddled with shady Cubans who hate white ppl. 4 seasons won't kill you, trust me ... S Florida will.

Hey Dave Lewison .. I've been working on a contract in NW Chicago suburbs for over a year, which originally was supposed to be until March 2014, but was extended every quarter.

Try to blow off steam by skydiving on a beautiful clear sunny Florida afternoon and NOPE place is CLOSED. Picking up boxes on way back ... last straw. Gotta get started on the move out soon :/

Mona Lowenthal Krimsky I disagree. These are automated speed cameras. One says 41 in a 35. They are in stretches between lights when you least expect them. Just a way you make money and screw people.

Hey Dalton Tuan Do ... East Dundee is the town just west of my hotel in Hoffman estates (a block or two from where I work). I clearly remember making a left turn after I had to work late that monday night (for a server install) and was tired. Then the light just turned red right as I was under it. Then I saw a flash, not knowing what the flash was (until I found this crap in the mailbox in Florida tonight). These red light / speed cameras don't always work right and need to be BANNED. Enough of this bullshit. In Florida they are removing them after many complaints and they CAUSE accidents too!

Chris Collura commented on Matt Sellers's post.

I've watched this video many times and the audio as well is crazy. They rated this tornado F2, clearly it's higher (but fortunately didn't hit anything at that point). The roar sounds more like jets than a train. Also these folks are VERY lucky ... As if God was with them that day. A direct hit of that intensity would have obliterated that entire farmstead. The rope out is beautiful, also you can see the stretched "vortex rolls" wrapping into the tornado as it was intensifying. Great stuff!

Chris Collura commented on his own photo.

Hey Bill Tabor ... that's correct, it SHOULD be lollipop, but it's 4.4.4 and not the 5.0 (Verizon already has that). I heard the 4.4.4 is a waste of time, bloatware, etc and not worth it. My phone is the S5 (Samsung Galaxy g900a). Freeing up RAM and killing processes / cache seemed to help a lot. It's AT&T that's cock-blocking the update processes now.

Posted: Feb 27, 2015, 6:56 AM

Heading to Florida this weekend. Lots of work to do down there, plus my dad's BDay (if he wants to even see me this time, if not, I'll leave the "aftercard" in his doorway). If I'm in a bad mood down there just ignore those posts. Just a lil "trouble in paradise". Back to Chicago March 3 to extended stay with more amenities.

Samsung has been flawless until just recently. Now these messages are commonplace. I'm going to speak to the folks at Samsung at best buy this weekend in Florida (or else it's back to apple, and my customer appreciation for them will also "have stopped").First of all ... AT&T offered a 4.4.4 OTA (over the air) KitKat update to their OS that is 481 MB to download. Then after about an hour, the phone reboots and "tries" to install the update ... gets to 25% and says "update failed". You can try again in 24 hours (if you want to see the 25% failure again). Why won't AT&T stay the fuck out of the way ... and let Samsung handle it like they should! Eversince this update failed my phone has been whacky (icons vanish, SD card not found, crashing apps), oh my!And yeah, yeah, yeah ... Samsung haters out there have already said "told you so" ... one of them threw his phone and broke it - twice - because of this nonsense.

OK ... Can anyone explain to me why "orphan" socks appear after a load of laundry?Did a load last night and CAREFULLY made sure what went into the washer ALL came out, transferring them to the dryer. Making sure NOTHING was dropped on the floor, nothing left clinging inside the washer or dryer.Still, low and behold ... ONE sock and the other no where to be found! Check the floor, check the machines, even spent an hour going through every pocket and sleeve / pant (to rule out the possibility of the other sock wedged in there) ... Nothing. I really do think the other sock either disintegrates, slips through a pipe or vent, or vanishes through a self-created rift in the space time continuum - Never to be seen again!Any thoughts?

Jeez ... My expertise in IT pays off last night!Download a version of odin (for flashing ROM on Samsung Android devices) and run the installer for version 3.10.x on my laptop. The installer hangs saying "please wait while we install your program" and right away (knowing something was not right), I killed it with task manager.Sure enough, these weird executables were running in "processes" with names like "1zamg1.exe", "vuupc.com", "cosd64.exe", and such. I killed those and they kept "re spawning" (kill them and they restart by themselves).I booted into save mode (after writing down these names) and deleted them via a file search.Booted again into normal mode (ofcourse with wifi OFF), and scheduled a boot time scan, rebooted again (with wifi OFF), and the drive was clean. Then removed all the garbage / rogue security programs in my "installed" (that I KNOW I didnt download) programs (things like "stormwatch", "coupon caddy", etc), plus deleting these physically in the "windows" and "program files" dirs (using shift delete), and scanned again. My laptop was saved (simply from catching this on time). Oh, and I reported this website posing as an official Samsung Odin support page with links to MS and Google as malware.I hope whoever writes this crap - Such as THIS GUY (hacker George Hotz) - Gets caught and goes to a federal prison, drops the soap, and his ass is "torn apart")!

That was a strange day. 2% probs, low end slight risk, and no one on it (well, almost no one).

I think a lot of people who are NOT single aren't going. Smart. Gotta save the "excuses" for chase season and not use them up (they're limited). ChaserCon is in fact on a "Hallmark" holiday ... be careful out there. No one ever wants to come home to an empty house with their clothes strewn out on the front lawn.

Chasercon 2006 was the cold snap at minus -19 at Fort Morgan. Kudos to the chaser (Samaras I think) who ran a 200' extension cord from his truck (generator) as well!

Seems like a "heat wave" today in Chicago at it was near 50 degrees. Roads all over are jammed with people going out on Saturday night. I don't blame them as its a nice night here. Then after church I was boxed in by some fire trucks with a supposed hi rise fire in downtown!

Mine are the wire mesh type (1/4" square mesh). Hopefully a dust off and should be good to go. Saved my escapes windows last season. I was thinking lexan too at first.

Remembering storm chaser Andy Gabrielson. A great guy on almost every storm, until some drunk driver (on his SECOND DUI incident) killed him this day 3 years ago in Oklahoma. RIP AG.

Yeah Tim Marshall ... The alien assistance is far fetched ... Ambition, religion, and passion was the driving force (hard manual labor). Extensive slavery was used as well.

Some people say aliens came here (same with the pyramids) and gave us a little "hand" ... Or people years ago were alot stronger and a heck of a lot more ambitious.

I remember my parents were so strict with that. Bedtime for me as a pre-teen was 9 PM .. no exceptions, regardless of what was on TV. So 10 hours (wake up by 7) was right where I should have been. Thanks mom and dad for a healthy life.

Chris Collura updated his status.

Official snow totals here in the Chicago area were 19 inches (over a foot and a half). Then the same storm trudged east, and interacted with the warmer ocean, and gave Boston 40 inches. Welcome to winter.

Icy cold morning here NW of Chicago. About 7 deg F in the wake of the major winter storm with cold clear Canadian air and NW winds in place. It was tough digging out this morning. Here at work, no school for the kids!

Blizzard conditions this morning in portions of the Chicago area. About a foot of snow before it's all done later today. I guess we'll beat NYC's totals from the last storm.
