Just booked the car rental and airfares for Chasercon 2013 early. Will be there from Feb 14 (thu) to Feb 17 (sun).

I was able to "combine" this with another trip as I will be in California from around Feb 1-2 until the 14th, so I got 3 "legs" - FLL -> SFO (feb 1) -> DEN (feb 14) -> FLL (feb 17). The latter 2 were free (points)!

Two weeks in N Cali / LA area (vacation), then top it off with "chasercon" on my way "back"!

I remember putting $100 in my wallet last night (or THOUGHT I did) and low and behold today at lunch reach into "one" of my "five" $20 bills I thought were in there and they weren't! I looked everywhere ... Maybe I'll find it under a book or something ... Im so mad I can piss myself. I'm getting OLD ;-(

Breakoff and track (4 way jump) as I look back passing through 4,500' ... I got a few seconds to enjoy before pulling my chute at 3,000'.

Black Friday often means "bargains and discounts"? Not necessarily, unless some violent folks get a discount on their hospital / emergency bills.

Knives, a stabbing, and a dead man in a fountain ... Tis' the season to by jolly ... A few years back on Black Friday I remember a road rage incident where someone wound up ripping their windshield wipers off. All over a parking spot.

Black Friday to me is not worth any "camping trip" to a parking lot nor waking up at 3 AM unless you have a huge holiday list that are things like toasters (and appliances that were made in China)!

I browsed for electronics, including a SSD last week. I saw the SAME items there, still with the OLD prices on them. Basically, last week a $199 part was the same old $199. No discount, nope ... Not even a single cent off. The good thing was that I went at 9 AM and didn't waste 5 hours of sleep or stand in a ling of pissed off people for 3 hours to find out the 1 cent was not applied.

Sure, you'll find great deals on applicances and other stuff, a TV (by a company called 'Colby' was $200 instead of $300), but looking at iPads, Bose, and all the "high demand" items were all the same-old-crap prices that were on there last week. Nothing, maybe $10 off of a $499 part, if you were lucky they still had it.

Don't waste your time, son't run yourself ragged all over the place thinking a "door buster" deal will be for something you WANT, because economics is economics (aka "stores" are never THAT "stupid") - It's NOT gonna be on sale.

Get this, last year I got my iPad at the same store (Best Buy). The price was about the same as it was early this morning. The Belkin folding case for it was another story. Last year I paid $49 for it. Last week, wow - The same case was $99. Today, at 9 AM, still $99.

Discount? What eff-ing discount?

So nice to wake up at 8:30 AM (yawn) and not 3:30 ;-)

Toronto Canada ... Give a $20 donation and you get a zipline ride about 100 feet over Toronto City Hall!

That bag is just sitting out on the tarmac all by itself as planes taxi by and vehicles go back and forth. I know AA has better on time performance ... But I avoid checking bags (and glad I do)!

Thanksgiving is a way of saying thanks for what we have ... A forgotten holiday - compressed more and more each year by Halloween (death) and Christmas (receiving)! Remember when we used to get TWO days off for thanksgiving?

I got a laugh today watching some ads ... One in five relationships start online ... Really?

So that means on-line theres an 80% chance of a failure, creep, age-ist, or some douchebag that will drug me and cut me into a bunch of pieces and put me down the garbage disposal?

My WORST experiences were 'attempting' online ... I'll stick to Starbucks, face-to-face and in person, and my best friends ;-)

Considering getting a 240 GB Intel SSD for my laptop ... Intel seems the best way to go (quality wise). I have a 300 GB drive in there, but I am wondering how a SSD will perform? I heard many great speed / run-time and boot-time benefits. I got a 2010 Sony Vaio, and about 45 GB is used by OS and all programs.

Miami got the living crap kicked out of them (football-wise, that is) by Tennessee on a beautiful Sunday afternoon (Nov 11). 37-3 ... That's a LOSS all right, oh my!

They tried and tried ... But Nov 11, 2012 was just NOT Miami's day!

Yeah, I know ... The scoreboard says it all with 32 seconds left in the 4th Qtr ... Empty seats, letting the clock run down, needing 4 touchdows to even get close ... Why bother?

Hard to watch game (Miami Dolphins and Tennessee) - Ouch! A 37-3 loss ... So sad!

A sunset captured by a NWS Radar Site looks like this ... A ray extending outward in the direction of the sun. This is caused by the sun's radio waves (along with visible light and other forms of radiation) entering the radar antenna and "fooling" it into thinking it's precipitation.

So cool seeing my "landing area" (yes, it's that 'lil "dot" below the arrow) before jumping from 14,500 feet on a beautiful day in Florida. So cool passing through that post frontal inversion at 5,000' or so ... Crystal clear above it, then the air suddenly gets cold and you smell the sugar cane burning and haze! Feeling the air get colder suddenly is the temp inversion - That's when I go from the clean subsidence aloft and punch into the "airmass from Canada" ;-) Cool air sinks and warm air rises!

OK ... The election is a done deal. I didn't vote (ofcourse) and if you want to attack me for that, go ahead, like mine would have made any difference.

It is what it is, and will be what it isn't ... But you can do something: Just watch what you are doing finacially. The economy is eff'd (no kidding) and no one is gonna help anyone except YOURSELVES.

Simply stated, if you do not have money for something - Just don't buy it. Buying something on credit or something you cannot pay for is WORSE than not buying it at all (remember ARM loans and the housing market - good example, ey)!

Most of all - STOP screwing each other! If people in the US (and the world) stop judging people at face value, ripping people off, and worst of all - stealing ... That will fix 90% of the proplem.

Obama is in ... It's NOT the end of the world, but what we all MAKE of it.
