Tornado "Triple Tuesday" ... Well almost at least!Feast your eyes on the Pilger "twins" with a possible third satellite to the far left trying to form.Note the devastated farmstead in the foreground - June 16, 2014 in Nebraska. The view is to the north of 275.

When I fly I smuggle 2 or 3 "dollar each" rums from liquor store. Then just get a soda and mix it. Screw paying $6 or $7 for a watered down drink in a 4oz cup!

I cannot chase this, alas it's a 6 hour drive for me (not a long ways for a chase). Plus the thought of after dark tornadoes moving 60+ MPH in heavily forested areas is discouraging.

Thanks a bunch, Skip Talbot! This sure was an amazing event and such a shame we didn't have DOW (doppler on wheels) trucks or other major data aquisition on it.

Interesting ... but I remember seeing that satellite (and have video of it) FORMING as a thin rope, then into the stovepipe racing around and into the Wakefield storm. Maybe it's condensation (if one of the Pilger tornadoes) wasn't visible between the wider stages and this thin rope? I really wish we had V2 or TWISTEX (hats off Tim Samaras and his group / RIP) on this event.

La Guardia is the "hurry up and wait airport" (worst delays in USA) ... Get there late and your (missed) flight leaves on time.
Get there early and the earlier you get there - The number of minutes you got early is inversely proportional to twice the number of minutes it's delayed :/

That's correct Bill Hark. The target was too far for the logistics / domain for a large group like that. That was a shame because the data they could have collected on that storm (slow motion, easy road network, etc).
Jim Reed was with the V2 group shooting pictures of them waiting those painful moments out.

Chris Collura replied to his own comment.
Jeez, Bill Hark. What a monster storm ey?
I'm still curious what the true wind speed was in that or "EF equivalent" (fortunately it MISSED Bowdle proper)!
The VORTEX team wasn't even on that storm (no DOW measurements). It was too far for them to make it from OKC.

That's correct Mark Overbeck. The ghost train was tearing roofs off outbuildings at this point. The view is NW and the tornado is moving ENE at 5 MPH.
