I just wrapped up a great first week at my new IT contract position. Saturday (or Sunday) I'll do my "rounds" of skydiving, visiting mom (who's doing a lot better), and church. Also keeping an eye on the tropics as we head into August. It WILL get busy, so don't let this "calm" weather in the Atlantic fool ya!

Currently watching the tropics heat up. Menwhile, I found a high-paying IT contract job in West Palm Beach, starting this Monday. Mom's taking care of the cancer with her lungs now and her brain tumor appears to be dead. Enjoying the finmal week of my 5 month "vacation" then back to work (but I still can chase hurricanes)!

Just finished a nice day (Saturday) of skydiving (14,000'), then saw my mom who's doing OK for lunch, then went to church. So cool jumping ABOVE the hazy SAL (Saharan Air Layer). I got to see a bald eagle soaring below me while under parachute at 3,000 feet! Sunday I'll be volunteering at the Buddha monestary and hopefully take the jet ski out. Possible new job on the way this week (possibly).

Saharan Air Layer is on for a hazy South FL into this weekend. Got the NO from the interview results last week, said I was "completely unqualified" for the IT job in Houston (like I cared). This was the one where a man from India, with the thickest accent I ever heard, interviewed me. Their loss from "outsourcing" ... Still enjoying time off anyway. Hurricane season is quiet for now. Mom's doing OK with her health.

SAL (Saharan Air Layer / African dust plume) reaches S Florida.

Mom's out of hospital, hopefully for a while. Job opps come and go, nothing here in S FL, though. I need a hurricane...

Just did a job interview but blew it royally. I probably knew everything they asked me, but I could not understand any of the questions because I do not understand "Hindi" (thick accent) ... LOL, their loss from out-sourcing. Thanks Bush. Anyway, off to hospital to visit mom.

Saturday here and 4th of July is tomorrow. No skydiving today because of rain. Sad day, Mom's back in hospital. I really hope I do not lose her to those damn cigarettes. Maybe I need a big and destructive hurricane to cheer me up a bit?

Saturday here and 4th of July is tomorrow. No skydiving today because of rain. Sad day, Mom's back in hospital. Sad past week too - No Alex chase. Could not visit best friends of mine in CA (for same reason no Alex = Airfares way too high). Also found out they won't visit me because they do not like FL. Maybe I need a big and destructive hurricane to cheer me up a bit?

Not much going on. No Alex chase, because it was at night in a foriegn country, too expensive to fly out there, and two guys I know were already on it (and I was NOT invited / or even asked anyway). Hurricane chasing, although on the back burner, will come sooner or later. Right now focusing on any future IT jobs and family (mother).
