NATIONAL STORM-CHASER SUMMIT 2024

The National Storm Chaser Summit (convention) in 2025 took place from February 14th to the 16th in Overland Park, Kansas at the Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. This was the fourth of a re-imagined chaser "summit" similar to the former "ChaserCon" event(s) ran by late Tim Samaras and Roger Hill. This was again another great event - With a large turn-out (over 650 storm chasers) - Thanks to the great efforts of Erik Fox and his group.

Flying into the Kansas City area on Thursday evening, February 13 from Florida. I saw the rare and elusive "green flash" atop the setting sin at 30,000+ feet!
Opening of the National Storm Chaser Summit on Friday, February 15. Once again, Eric Fox and his crew did an amazing job at organizing this event.
Edgar O’Neal, who is known for chasing with Reed Timmer, talks about video editing and social media topics.
Josh Morgerman (with iCyclone) has chased more tropical cyclones than any other storm chaser as of 2025. Here he is talking about his hurricane and typhoon chases in 2024.
Jeff and Sara Gammons talking about a new movie project they made. I knew and chased with Jeff Gammons for many years (formerly the "Weathervine" storm chase group). The film they are working on takes a different turn away from storm chasing, and the medical issues Jeff overcame instead, including his wife, Sara donating a kidney to save Jeff's life.

Tim Marshall talking about the 2024 tornadoes - With a multi-vortex tornado in front of him (well, on the big screen at least)!
The OTUS storm research group, mainly with Josh Aikins and Paul Robinson, talking about their ambitious efforts in flying drones directly into tornadoes.
The OTUS Project succeeded on May 23, 2024 near East Duke / El Dorado, Oklahoma and successfully flew a high performance (and highly modified) drone into the core of a violent tornado. The penetration yielded incredible footage and data.
Myself and Tim Marshall in the hotel lobby on Sunday, February 16.
