February 5 included a drive back to Dallas after the convention ended in Oklahoma around noon, then fly out in the evening with a layover in Chicago. In this set of images, the sunset is brilliant at 37,000 feet. The upper left inset shows the sun just about to set, with atmospheric distortion. The upper right inset is the elusive "green flash", noted just when the upper tip of the solar disk slips near and below the horizon, with the bright apple-green bar visible above it. |
