This is a video clip of the interception and penetration of Hurricane Isaac in the northern Gulf Coastal States (Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana) from August 28 through August 29, 2012. The storm was a powerful category one hurricane with sustained 80-85 MPH winds at landfall in Louisiana early on August 29. This exceptionally large hurricane drove a storm surge of nearly 12 feet into low lying coastal areas while battering the area for many hours with high winds, downing trees and powerlines. See the high storm surge and strong winds of the hurricane, including the calm eye, and even a rain-wrapped tornado near Gulfport, Mississippi during the afternoon of August 29th!
