This is a full video of a row of houses burning to the ground after Hurricane Ike struck Galveston, Texas on September 13, 2008. The video is un-edited and water-marked and shows how strong winds can fan flames from one house fire, and cause multiple structures to also be involved. Please use this video as an example on how fires spread, and fire-fighting in difficult situations. Unfortunately, and due to the hurricane, fire / rescue cannot respond until winds drop to a safe level - That's why you do not see any fire / rescue on the scene until after most of the damage was done. Also, in a disaster scenario, water pressure (and / or electricity) may be unavailable - So hooking up to a fire hydrant is not an option (in the video, flood waters - Salt water brought in by the storm surge - Were the only means of putting out the last of the fires once fire fighters arrived.
