Video of the effects of major category 3 hurricane Idalia in the Florida "Big Bend" / nature coast area on August 30, 2023 Most observations were done in the Taylor County area near Athena and Perry, Florida. The video shows the inner eyewall effects of the hurricane, with violent winds, as well as the storm center and eye passing over during the morning. The video also shows the devastating storm surge that extended well south of the hurricane, in Steinhatchee.
