I am in Oklahoma City and gearing up for what has to be a tornado outbreak day. High risk as per the SPC (Storm Prediction Center) and the tornado probabilities alone are 30% hatched. Multiple long-track destructive tornadoes are possible over Oklahoma and extreme S Kanas. This setup occurs just days after a devastating tornado destroyed parts of Joplin, Missouri. Stay safe everyone!

Joplin Missouri has been hit (on May 22) by a violent tornado. There is extensive damage and dozens of fatalities. I followed the storm from initiation from near Parsons, KS all the way southeast through Carthage and to Chesepeke, MO. I was a couple of miles north of Joplin when it was getting destroyed, close enough to see debris raining out of the sky mixed in with giant hail ;-(

Well, thinking I was gonna bust with a blue sky today (May 21) and in fact my last post mentioned that ... But that little cell popped op near Sulphur then another near Ada and the rest was history! I saw at least 4 tornadoes, including the beautiful cone from a distance from the Ava, OK storm! Got two nice hail dings too!

New week after mother's day ... Just got a Javalin-Saffire 150 semi-elliptical skydiving rig with about 200 jumps on it in great shape! Test flown it Sunday before visiting mom and I was sold. Extended warranty on my SeaDoo RXP-X as well. Next week, weather permitting, I'm off to 10+ days of Plains chasing.

Just booked (fully flexible and refundable) tickets for MAIN chase trip (May 20-31) in the central USA! Got sunburned at beach today in FL in the meantime. Spending Mothers Day Sunday over parent's place as well. She is doing great after winning her battle with cancer last year!
