As of 10 AM EDT (11 AM AST) this morning, Nicole's eye collapsed and just missed Bermuda by a bit, putting the island on the weaker LEFT (western) side of the storm core. The satellite shows a "tilted" and smaller eye (shear maybe starting) and SE of the island. Based on the radar, however, the western edge of the eye itself appears to be over part of the island.

Learn what storm "upscale" and "downscale" growth is. Upscale is where a supercell storm evolves into a line segment and large storm cluster. But downscaling is when the storm just fades away. Watch a pretty nice LP supercell here on radar undergo such evolution :)

Goes16 visible satellite showing incredible difluence and anvil blow-off from the May 7 supercell / hail storm initiating near Childress and through Seymour. Note the storm "left split" doing into Oklahoma any dying, with the right-moving portion becoming the main supercell. Amazing.

Humm ... This is quite interesting. This guy tied a flying beetle to a string / fishing line and a stick as a toy for his grandson. @[588697501:2048:Bill Hark] might be able to elaborate on what kind of beetle it is. Crazy hurricane season to say the least. Can't chase this but I hope this comes in at a sparsely populated area. Flash flooding will be a major problem after landfall.Then after this storm (hurricane Eta, the 29th storm of this crazy hurricane season), some long range models show another storm developing off the same monsoon trough / gyre and affecting the Gulf and even Florida next week.

This is cool (AirBnb) rental "tree house" style cabin in the trees. Video starts from the outside and once inside, it is a luxurious studio style space with kitchenette, bunk bed, all amenities. Pretty cool (near Juno Beach, S Florida).
