I dont get this... Any thoughts?I worked at a W2 employer IN FL (who placed me in CO and directly told me I was eligible) and this layoff was because of COVID-19.So what is Gov DeSantis saying everyone gets unemployment? Say what, mister DeSantis?Duh,? Huh? Booee?

WTF am I supposed to do with this???And if anyone tells me this is a glitch and I have to wait and will eventually get these benefits = You got the WRONG information. This is stupid, ridiculous, and a f'cking joke. I am on my 5th claim trying to get unemployment in FL and trying for PUA as well. The website clearly says that weeks do NOT need to be claimed with at least 5 work contacts.Yet once it the system it still forces you to enter them (the screen in the image should not even have come up). Meanwhile I'm still waiting for a lousy penny from them. What idiots!I guess it's easier to see a photogenic wedge tornado in 2020 than FL to get its unemployment system fixed?

Posted: Jun 11, 2020, 7:31 AM

After all that red tape and entering nearly 6 (six) claims since mid March ... I am awarded with a whopping $125 a week in unemployment!Question ... Where and how does the CARES act come into play? I assume its automatic and comes as a separate check / deposit like the stimulus?

Posted: Jun 15, 2020, 3:28 PM

I'm from this point on, taking Covid-19 just as the common cold or the flu. Basically it is never gonna go away and we all have to live with it - For the rest of our lives. The only hope will be better treatments, or, hopefully, a vaccine. The second wave, as expected, is well underway - Especially in places like S Florida. This second wave WILL be WORSE than the first one, forcing us to probably lock-down a second time. Warmer weather doesn't slow it down either like the flu. People won't change, and it's just not going away. Period. It will continue to kill (albeit a small portion of those infected) but the social impacts will be devastating and long lasting. So far, It ruined things we love, lost our jobs, corrupted our government, canceled events, and even disrupted things ranging from airshows, concerts, sports, and even storm chasing.Merely shaking hands, church, and going to a buffet in Las Vegas is something we have to live without now. I wish I can say something good but I don't know what to say. Everywhere I look its not anything good.Like the image ... Anything "Less than 2%" with this stupid pandemic would be nice (let alone tornado probabilities) :/

And not in a good way. @[1530543922:2048:Doug Kiesling] and I were working on a great project for hurricane Michael in 2018 and the producers just yanked it and pulled the plug. All our work for nothing (sound familiar?) ... Yes its 2020. The year of NO.Probably caused by the pandemic and people cutting back - OR - Some A hole low-balled us with footage. This year and its shattered dreams / cancelations can shove it.#YouMissedApril22

A couple of weeks ago ... I was shopping in a local Walmart and looking for some pork / beef to grill. This older white dude comes up to me with two packages of beef and says "hey, this is $30 in meat ... Its 'yours' for $10"!I declined. Wait a minute. This was IN the store. So what do I pay him $10 then the $30 at the register? It clearly was meat from the same Walmart. I looked and they were out of beef and I got pork anyways. I reported this guy (giving this picture to security) and he was arrested. Don't do "low life" things :(

I heard Walmart (and I HOPE) many other stores are closing on Thanksgiving and much of black Friday......Thats good to hear. Thanksgiving was one of my favorite times to enjoy with food and family. My mom (RIP) hated black Friday and all the mayhem and always tried to bring family together on Thanksgiving. I know I'm old school by today's standards but Thanksgiving certainly isn't a holiday to whittle out of existence and turn everyone into selfish, discount hungry maniacs. The last straw for me was a couple years ago when I pulled tons of strings to make sure I was home in Florida (work was out of state) to enjoy Thanksgiving with my dad and his girlfriend, only for them to leave town and I was literally by myself. I was so sad, and my boss wasn't happy either (flew down to FL and back, making an extra trip, only for my own family to cancel it, so it was all for nothing). My buddy, Derek Sibley and his mother Dana Kavner Sibley, kinda saved my sanity having a great get together for Thanksgiving instead. Watching football and enjoying great FOOD and friendship. Not some DEAL on a TV. That evening we went to Walmart to see if we can see anyone fighting (to laugh at).Hats off to Detek and his mom. And if it was up to me, EVERY STORE should be CLOSED and locked up on that Thursday. And open up at 9 AM Friday (not 3 AM). The goods can wait for sale and won't go anywhere those extra hours. Is it really THAT f'cking important? No. Family I think is.https://youtu.be/ZsR-SFcIbtk

A similar radar view presents itself this afternoon off Hawaii in the Pacific basin (as we had off S Texas yesterday) - Without all the spotter dots.Looks like the southern (weaker) eyewall of hurricane Douglas with 85 MPH winds, may graze the N tips of Oahu and Kauai as it moves towards the WNW. The storm is on a gradual weakening trend.

Posted: Jul 26, 2020, 5:50 PM

Oh that second wave?Just ride it. No hurricanes (Hispanola in "the way") and shear / dry air? Covid-19 can provide big waves No need for hurricanes ;(Just be a Floridian and refuse to stay at home / jam beaches and hair salons = And you'll catch the (second) "wave" :)

For many in Florida it looks like a possible minimal hurricane will be affecting the area from the Palm Beaches northward, especially during the night into Sunday morning. This storm has been a tricky call track wise with the western (weaker left) side grazing the coast and the worst staying offshore. Ofcourse one little westward track change will bring the stronger side in.Most likely this will be a 75 or 80 MPH hurricane if it hits S Florida directly, but unlikely much more than that. The attached image is from the Bahamas radar (reflectivity), showing the developing eyewall at 6:05 (in the lower right insert) then at 6:45 (main image). The storm is already struggling with impending shear and drier midevel air to the west (left). And the eye at 6:45 is showing that. But still too early as this may be just internal dynamics of the storm. It's a delicate balance between very warm water and mediocre upper air support. Let's see which one wins out?

Posted: Jul 31, 2020, 3:55 PM

Waiting on the 11 pm EDT advisory. Decision will soon be now or never to head to E/C Florida :/

Posted: Jul 31, 2020, 7:14 PM

Like supercells and tornadoes under a jet stream in the central USA - Vertical wind shear can be a powerful force. But the opposite applies for tropical cyclones, which are destroyed by shear (and avert a disaster).Hurricane Isaias this morning (near Andros Island in the Bahamas) fought hard against increasing wind shear, and the infrared satellite shows it! The main image shows the hurricane around sunrise with cold (-85 C) cloud tops, meaning high cloud tops and a stronger storm. The inset to the lower right was just a few hours later and only shows blue colors, denoting the tall thunderstorm clouds, called "hot towers", basically evaporated into nothing, because of drier air in addition to the shear. Also the storm is moving more NNW instead of NW, and slowing down. With a storm barely skirting the east coast of FL, leaving the western, weaker side (left), to affect FL. The west side will have little weather on it, in fact, no hurricsne forced winds were even found in the SW quadrant.I'm wondering if this storm will actually make weather in Florida BETTER than the norm? Albeit windy, but probably with less rain than a typical day in Florida away from the offshore core of Isaias!Note: I am most likely NOT chasing this.

Posted: Aug 1, 2020, 7:51 AM

Where is Isaias? Find the center ... No, not the T Storm cluster.

Posted: Aug 1, 2020, 8:41 PM

So whats going on here (Sept 6-19)? Some special event??? A hurricane? Butterball convention? LolWHY the only week I need to be down there?

Posted: Aug 3, 2020, 6:59 PM

The feeder band ahead of Isaias is backing the surface flow and interacting with the upper trough / jet stream to the NW with multiple tornadic HP supercells. The radar image is the base reflectivity with the bottom insets Doppler velocity (lefr) and CC / debris (to the right). Please take these storms seriously as there is most likely a large rain wrapped tornado (just passed very near Suffolk and E of Windsor. You will NOT see this tornado visually (rain wrapped and it night) - Seek cover if you are in the tornado warning area!

I want to apologize if I offended anyone with a pretty bad remark I posted about a video I was deeply disturbed and angered after seeing. The video was from the September 11 attacks in 2001 and showed one of the planes impacting the buildings with a audio recording of a phone call of a woman on the plane crying and scared for her life (then going silent after saying "I see buildings...").September 11 and anything reminding me of it gives me bad post traumatic stress and nightmares. Even worse, the after effects ruined my career at the time, I lost me home, financial welfare, stocks lost, and even my partner at the time didn't understand and she left me (even blamed me that was laid off because "how I dress"). It took almost a decade to recover from this.Anyway. I am not a prejudice person and in anger after seeing this, some bad stereotypes and remarks "slipped out", and, naturally I was put in "FB jail" for 24 hours. I am extremely sorry about this and if I offended anyone I promise it will never happen again.Note: The post had the physics equation in it (picture) but has been deleted. Please PM me if you need to talk to me.

This is a picture taken from inside the inner eyewall of hurricane "Irma" as it was making landfall in Marco Island, Florida at roughly 3:15 PM EDT on September 10, 2017, three years ago, with @[1610340277:2048:Derek Sibley]!The ferocious winds here are blowing with gusts exceeding 130 MPH, tearing apart palm trees, throwing debris across the area, and nearly tearing my shirt right off my body. This scene was lit by a brilliant flash of lightning and thunderclap barely audible over the roar of the wind. This was about 10 minutes before entering the calm eye of Irma (which had some sun peeking through).http://sky-chaser.com/irma17.htm

September 11, 2001 was one of the darkest days in American history. It has been exactly nineteen (19) years since this attack happened..This year (and every year) is a good time to remember those who lost their lives because of a hostile and down-right cowardly act of terrorism inflicted on the United States by the Al Qaeda / Taliban groups.Who can forget the heroes that fateful day? Those on the ground, those on the planes (except the perpetrators, of course), the firefighters, the innocent people TRYING to do nothing more than going to work to support a family ... The list goes on.Always remember and never forget.

Please try to read this... Good day everyone. As you can imagine, this week was a very busy week. California fires, hurricane Sally, politics / Covid-19, and - Of course - Facebook. I was eager to post cool images of fire smoke and comment on hurricane Sally - As I flew over it heading to Florida (no, I could not chase Sally because of family, medical, and work commitments this go around). But Sunday night I tried to click the "like" button (from a funny post from @[100001500549445:2048:Lindsey Fowler] on a Russian Covid-19 vaccine joke post) and was displayed a screen that I cannot post or comment for 3 days. This was SUNDAY NIGHT.The so called "offending post" was to @[100000618937370:2048:Adam Cooley] on a hilarious post about a radar image and Buffalo Wild Wings. And there were even responses and such, since right after posting the totally legit response I was almost instantly flagged, but not blocked nor banned. My so called "offensive post" was SATURDAY AFTERNOON.An annotated screen shot of Adam's funny post and radar image, some messages, and a screen shot of the banned message I got Sunday, are shown in the picture associated with this post.As soon as I posted my response to Adam on Saturday - Within seconds - I got a message it was in appropriate. I promptly deleted it. After many other posts of skydiving and weather, late on Sunday, and many hours after, I was banned for 3 days.I am simply putting this out there ... As my post had no racism. No offensive pictures. And no cuss / vulgar words. In fact, the actual phrase that GOT ME BANNED is in the first few lines of Adam Cooley's post ... I won't repeat it here but it was NOT a bad word. So why was I kicked off? How come Adam wasn't kicked off if he had the same word in his post (again see the picture)?Did someone report me? If so, I have a messenger on here, and email - And I am more than happy to explain (or take for) any criticism someone may have against me. It's 2020 after all, so I'll understand. If not, why on earth would I be banned and put in "Facebook jail" for 3 to 4 days? I'm asking because of a very innocuous phrase (I'll just say it here, it was "b_tt h__e") that was in response to Adam's funny message with that SAME phrase in it. So what happened? This is all besides far worse comments and attacks I have been seeing on here - Some directed at me and others. I never see those posts banned. Also, many people start this - I understand these are rough times for all of us - But the political and anti-peaceful / fake-news posts in here are just ridiculous. These "stir up" rather harsh emotions and reactions. Maybe THOSE are the folks that should get banned? Not the ones reading them and getting hurt / offended?I know some posts before I slipped up and had some bad wording in them and deleted them. But not this time.Anyway I am just putting this out here for you to see. This time I seriously didn't do anything. I think its unfair I was banned - And at a worst time with the weather events and such going on that I was eager to share - I messaged some folks on those!I'll take any opinion with no defense but to be honest I am not going to even respond to anything interesting or funny on here until the people and managers on this app straighten up their act. Its more like ANTI social media at this point. Thanks for reading if you made it HERE ;)

Currently near Creole, Louisiana on an elevated concrete slab (left over from destroyed building from Laura). Looks like another Sally with all the stuff on one side of the storm. Should be fun.

This is beyond disgusting and out of hand now. Dozens of robo-galls daily with offers to lower interest rates, auto repair warranty, and NOW I will be arrested for fraud and illegal activity with both the BBB and IRS!!!How on earth is someone a world away in India going to come to my door and arrest me?Maybe I can pay them with Steam cards? Lol!

Its been a long time coming (1988) but I'll figure I will get it out in the open. And quite frankly. I am gay (bisexual). I'm not gonna hide this and lie about it anymore. But I am what I am. Take it anyway you want. Block me. Unfriend me. Call me whatever horrible names you like.. Tell me the F word. I don't give a sh*t. Compliment me, or say you "don't care" or "that it doesn't change anything" = Then you are just f'cking AWESOME. Stop the hate and let's all get along regardless. I'm STILL the same storm chaser and IT guy I was since my first post on Facebook in 2007. Surprised? Fine. But please take me for what its worth.

Through these tough times it's difficult for everyone. Church is simply closed in many areas and mass is out of the question. So on Sunday do I just not go? No! Insteas I try to bring the "mass" home - often inviting and sharing it with my friends and family. Thanks to this yearly mass book that really helped me stay right spiritually every week (before I read from it if I was traveling and couldn't make it to church).

Wow ... I thought these things were $329 or so. Seems like a typo or someone on eBay accidentally misplaced a decimal place when they posted it :)Don't hit "buy it now" by mistake?

Someone sends me friend request then quits chatting with me when she asks how old I am. Classy.Says "mutual friends with @[100000442610383:2048:Daniel Shaw]" so I inadvertently accepted their friend request.Be CAREFUL with the SPAM crap on FB guys.

With the subject of some people in bad car accidents and walking away relatively unscathed (or without life lasting injuries), I had such a close "brush" with death on Dec 23, 2006. Even @[1028447103:2048:Evan Hatch] would cringe seeing this (BTW, glad he made it as well).I was returning home to my place in S Florida, having driven a mere 2 miles to the post office to send out a last minute Christmas gift. A flat bed tow truck, with a driver simply not looking to see me in his right lane before changing lanes, struck my Ford Focus. My drivers side door was ripped off and I rolled several times. I was airlifted to a hospital for an overnight stay.Despite the sheer violence of the crash - You go figure how I "stumbled out of THAT" in the picture (other than God standing in my shoulder) - I escaped with just a big cut across my face and some bruises (and probably 8 lives to spare out of the 9 I had). Lucky enough to convince me to go back to church ever since! The very next day and after leaving the hospital I first saw my family and gave them all a hug hug ... If you are interested, I have a web page at the link below.http://sky-chaser.com/accident.htm

I guess I'll just put this common phrase I hear all the time out there - And apply it to the way I feel about the predicted violence and other "demonstrations" expected today (1/20) :)

Posted: Jan 20, 2021, 4:36 AM

Hopefully we will have another 4 years with some degree of normalcy. Today's inauguration seemed to go by without the feared violence and such. Ofcourse there will be ups and downs, but the election is over and time to accept it (like it or not).

Ever wondering WHY I'm not on here as much? Because of remarks like THIS. A simple response to a thread saying I don't hurt animals. Yet people on here who post like this never get banned nor go in "FB jail". This app has some folks making it more toxic than a shallow dating app :(Hey ZB, did you see that?

Posted: Feb 25, 2021, 8:50 AM

We all know the drill - Don't do it ;)If you didn't order something - And you see something like this, just delete it.

Oh Lake Ronkonkoma. A good neighbor and friend of mine posted a peaceful picture of the lake (it's in central Long Island, SE New York in Islip / Suffolk County where I grew up).Legend has it that there is "The lady of the lake" and a Native American curse attached to it ... Where once a year a man (usually young or in his teens) would drown in that lake each year. It nearly claimed my life in the early 80s with a run in with some school bullies over the winter.I didn't drown but was tossed into a hole in the thin ice and beat up. After that, family problems ensued - Especially with my stern dad at the time. Yet others not so lucky contined to drown or die there - The summer following that winter where I was pushed into the ice hole, someone was murdered after a lovers quarrel. And you guessed it, it was a young man.We used to swim there all the time. Never knowing what danger lurked beneath the dark green waters. On a hot summer day, my friends and I would swim down deep, and just 6 feet down or so it would be bone chilling cold, enough to take your breath away. Some thought the lake was bottomless (ofcourse it's not!), and connected to the Long Island Sound, explaining strange rises and falls in the lake level unrelated to rainfall. Sometimes people who drowned were never found. Scary....You decide if this chilling Algonquin legend is really true. I certainly ain't going near there!See: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Ronkonkoma_(lake)
